Posted EVERY WORK DAY!

One of earliest Schools in Brevard original desks

Camp 1387 held our first mow only work day Friday 10 June at Lawndale. Since then we have had a full work day Saturday 25 June and another mow only day Friday 08 July. Participation has been very good with 4-5 on Fridays and 10-12 Saturdays.  On Saturday 25 June new compatriot Geoff Barnett was on site with a trailer load of equipment
supplementing what we have had and he took the Lawndale small mower for a tune up. Geoff and new compatriot Bill Broughton teamed up with Adjutant Rob Murray to do an initial pass of trimming low tree branches across the entire 2 acre site. They piled some 4 yards of branches at the curb with just the 3 of them! The Steven Smith family did a detail cleaning along the inside of the front fence and got about 8 bags of leafs from the already “clean” strip of yard. NickNichols made the rounds with his wife and camera so we have an excellent start on building a file of interior and exterior photos – check out the 2nd story school room photo. Larry Thornton could use some help here as most of the doors have early 20th
century hardware and cleaningthem up and hunting down pieces parts or making new ones requires time and attention.

A tip of the kepi to Nick Nichols, who provided these photos.
