Veteran's Day Parade
2010
The Veteran’s Day Parade followed the traditional route through old downtown Melbourne. We had a nice 6 man Color Guard and were followed by a vehicle covered with magnetic SCV signs.
We are pleased to report that the sidewalk crowds were about 1/3 larger than the past few years. Other good news is that our unit was widely welcomed by the spectators with salutes, “Our boys…”, cheers, and “Thank you!” A tip of the kepi to compatriots Gerry and Greg Carson, Kevin Atchison, Don Young, Color Sgt. Evan Phillips and his friend Josh. Miss Beth complemented by daughter and grandchildren drove the vehicle, followed the Color Guard and waved at all the well wishers, maybe they were all waving at the children instead of the soldiers!
