Camp 1387 Honored their Ancestors by participating in the Saint Patrick's Day Parade March 16, 2013
The Ancient Order of Hibernians and Meg O’Malley’s Pub presented their annual St. Patrick’s
Day Parade 16 March in old downtown Melbourne. The spectator crowd was very large with
many thousands of people jammed on the sidewalks and street. Our unit was greeted with
cheers and salutes on all sides. We mustered 7 flag bearers and a rifleman, decorated
convertible and 6 bikes from the Mechanized Cavalry. We had 22 individuals in our unit
including 3 men who simply walked up and asked to march with us – now that’s a problem we
all wish we could deal with more frequently. A tip of the kepi to Wes Frank and 1680 Vero.
