 Confederate Memorial Day

2014

On Sunday, April 27, Capt. J.J. Dickison Camp 1387 in conjunction with The Henry Patrick
Gradick UDC Chapter 2406 paid tribute to our fallen heroes who gave it all for the cause for
Southern independence.

The tribute was very moving with beautiful music, touching poems and timely readings.  Flags
were placed on both Confederate and Union graves and a special salute was given by the
Honor Guard and bagpiper.  We had another new musical experience; taps on the violin – it was
really quite nice. Some 50 folks were in attendance at the memorial.
Our thanks go to all who participated in the memorial, the SCV, the UDC, the musicians,
speakers and those who attended the service and 10th Brigade Commander Larry Rowe and his
fellow compatriot from the Christmas Camp for supporting the memorial.

A tip of the kepi to Miss June, who provided these photos.
